Defence Cyber Certification for MoD suppliers.
Defence Cyber Certification (DCC) is the MoD’s organisation-wide cyber security certification framework, delivered by IASME. It has four levels, 0 to 3, is based on Defence Standard 05-138 Issue 4, and replaces the former Supplier Assurance Questionnaire (SAQ). We deliver it with CyberSmart.
What DCC means for your business.
DCC is required for defence suppliers. Cyber Essentials is needed at every level, and Cyber Essentials Plus is needed for Levels 2 and 3. MoD delivery teams assess each supplier’s cyber risk using the Cyber Security Model (CSM), and that assessment sets the DCC level you have to reach.
The MoD has asked all defence suppliers to achieve DCC Level 0 by 31 December 2026. Certification is a single, point-in-time assessment that is valid for three years.
Although DCC is not yet mandatory for every MoD contract, most now require it, and it is expected to become mandatory as the scheme is rolled out. Beyond MoD tenders, it also builds credibility across the wider defence supply chain and improves your day-to-day cyber security.

DCC Levels 0 and 1 certification only
